Kuilsriver police are on the hunt for five dangerous criminals some who have evaded justice for close to 10 years.

Police spokesperson Ndakhe Gwala said the five suspects were charged with crimes that ranged from rape to murder.

Siyabonga Mbono, who faces murder charges, was expected to appear in the Blue Downs Regional court in May 2014 but failed to do so.

“When he failed to appear in court, a warrant of arrest was issued but he had moved from his Kalkfontein address to an unknown address in Eastern Cape,” said Gwala.

In 2019, Rudi Solomons, appeared on the police’s radar for a rape and robbery incident that occurred in February at a railway line in Kuilsriver.

The suspect could not be located as he had allegedly moved from Wesbank to an unknown address in Bloekombos, Kraaifontein.

The DNA of a third suspect, John Enrico Meyer, was positively linked to a crime scene where a motor vehicle was stolen in July 2018.

According to the police’s information, he moved from his address in Blackheath to an unknown address in Franschhoek.

Simphiwe Masuku is also wanted for rape charges. Information gathered by police suggested that he was in the East London area in the Eastern Cape.

Gwala said the fifth suspect, Mark Ferriera, from Blackheath, was arrested for intimidation and malicious damage to property and granted bail on condition that he would appear before the magistrate on April 13.

“He has failed to comply. According to information, he is in the Eersterivier area,” concluded Gwala.
