With Kaizer Chiefs entering a new era with a new coach and technical staff, the club on Thursday evening launched their jersey for the upcoming season.

After a difficult 2023/24 campaign, Amakhosi fans will be looking forward to seeing their heroes decked out in their new kit as they aim to get the club back to where it belongs.

The iconic black and gold stripes of old, when Chiefs were the most revered team in the land, are back.

The striped jersey was first made famous in the 90s, and was worn by the likes of Neil Tovey, Doctor Khumalo, Thabang Lebese and the late Ace Kungwane.

In those days, they were the most talked about club in the country as their star name left their opponents chasing shadows.

“We are thrilled to unveil our new Kaizer Chiefs x @kappa_sa Jersey for the upcoming 2024/25 season! This jersey is a tribute to our rich heritage and a symbol of our future victories,” the club wrore on their announcement video on X.

They also unveiled the away jersey, which is black with thin gold stripes.

Whether the current crop of stars will be able to live up to the club’s icons remains to be seen, but there were some encouraging signs during their recent pre-season trip to Turkiye.

For the upcoming season, the Glamour Boys will be under the tutelage of Tunisian tactician Nasreddine Nabi.
