Azam Football Club star Feisal Salum is reportedly keen to stay in Tanzania and join Simba SC under Fadlu Davids, despite strong interest from Kaizer Chiefs.

Salum has established himself as one of the standout players in the Tanzanian Premier League. Last season he finished as the league’s second-highest scorer with an impressive 19 goals, and his stellar form has continued this season, playing a crucial role in Azam's quest for league glory.

IOL Sport previously reported that the Phefeni Glamour Boys were willing to fork out more than R15 million to secure the services of the highly rated midfielder.

Amakhosi are struggling in the Betway Premiership, currently sitting sixth on the log with 18 points from 13 matches and are looking to bolster their squad during the January transfer window.

However, a source close to the situation has informed the Citizen that the midfielder is not interested in leaving Tanzania and is instead considering a move to Simba.

“Unless Chiefs offer what Azam wants, I don’t see the deal happening anytime soon. What’s more, Feisal wants to stay in Tanzania, and with Simba also interested, it seems he’s likely to join them,” the source said.

The report further added that Azam are also looking to keep the player by offering him a new contract.

“Feisal is a very important player for Azam, and they want to offer him an improved contract to keep him beyond the current deal. They want to challenge for the league title and play in the CAF Champions League and they need their best player in order to achieve this,” the source added.
