Kaizer Chiefs will have all eyes on them in the Betway Premiership action on Wednesday evening, as they take on AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

AmaZulu vs Kaizer Chiefs is one of five Betway Prem games which are scheduled for a 7.30pm kick-off on Wednesday.

Chiefs made headlines by winning their first league clash of the season - against Marumo Gallants - under new coach Nasreddine Nabi. Despite it being their first game of the season, it prompted wild praise and belief among the trophy-starved fans that Chiefs’ could mount a title challenge in the 2024/24 season.

The Soweto Giants, however, finished 10th on the log last term and fans might be well advised to temper their expectations.

‘We believe they have weaknesses we can exploit’

Nabi said ahead of the game: “Our preparation has been good. We have watched the previous game of our opponents, AmaZulu, and analysed the strengths of the team and some areas where we believe they have weaknesses that we can exploit.”

In fact, after Chiefs take on AmaZulu they will have the unenviable task of playing the mighty Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

While Chiefs were languishing down the table last season, Sundowns won their seventh successive league title.

AmaZulu, meanwhile lost their opening league encounter against Polokwane City. In fact, AmaZulu would have thought they would have collected a well-earned point before hosts Polokwane scored the winner in added time through a Thabang Matuludi strike.

Elsewhere on Wednesday evening, Golden Arrows will take on Magesi FC at Mpumulanga Stadium in Hammarsdale.

Sekhukhune United will host Chippa United at Peter Mokaba Stadium, in Hammarsdale.

Down in Cape Town, a local derby will see Stellenbosch FC clash with Cape Town City FC at Athlone Stadium.

Up country in Pretoria at TUT Stadium, SuperSport United will host TS Galaxy.
