Siya Kolisi, the captain of the Springboks, has called for the public to support the Springbok Women’s team.

The rugby player made an appearance at the Bok Women’s game against the Wallaroos at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town to show his support.

Talking to SuperSport, the rugby captain emphasised the long history of women supporting men's rugby and shared the need for men to return that support.

“Women have been supporting us for a very long time, and they also deserve the same support we get. I think it is our duty as men in the game to make sure that we are intentionally there,” he said.

He also said that their support does not mean attending the games only, but also pitching up on their training and helping where they can.

“If the women's game grows, the whole of rugby grows and we can all benefit out of it,” he added.

He further mentioned that they are all playing and represent one country therefore, the women also deserve the same support that the men’s rugby get each and every single weekend.

Additionally, Kolisi expressed his gratitude to people who came out to support the women’s game.

“Thank you to everyone who came out here, we just need to pitch up, enjoy and have fun. The more our women get better, in terms of resources, the better they will get,” said the rugby captain.
