The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Eastern Cape, Free State, and Gauteng are appealing to the community for assistance in apprehending suspects involved in several murder cases.
In Gqeberha, police are investigating a triple murder that occurred on Saturday in New Brighton. At around 06.40am, SAPS New Brighton responded to reports of a shooting on Ntintili Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a white Kia with three occupants: a male driver, a female front passenger, and another female outside the vehicle. All three victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and their identities are currently unknown.
Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg said: “No further information is available at the moment. Three cases of murder have been opened, and the investigation is under way.”

In a separate incident, Phuthaditjhaba police in Free State are seeking urgent community assistance in tracing two armed suspects following the shooting deaths of a 61-year-old woman and her 40-year-old son in their home.
On Saturday at approximately 9.45am, police received a call about the shooting in the Snake Park Section of Bluegumbosch. It is alleged that the woman and her two sons were inside their four-roomed house when two males entered, asking for her elder son. After she questioned their intentions, they proceeded to the bedroom, where gunshots were heard.
Provincial spokesperson Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring reported that police found two bodies in the bedroom, both with fatal gunshot wounds.
“The motive behind the killings is not yet known. Local police are on the ground tracing the suspects with community assistance. Murder cases are under investigation,” Mophiring said.

In Gauteng, police are searching for a suspect who fled after allegedly murdering his landlord in Tokoza on September 18, 2023. The suspect, Thamsanqa Professor Mdamba, is believed to have escaped to KwaZulu-Natal. He was previously arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Police request that anyone who sees him in KZN contact the nearest police station or the investigating officer, Sgt Mchunu, at 072 3309 73.
