The PowerBall jackpot is estimated at a whopping R106million on Friday.

National Lottery Ithuba confirmed that the jackpot has rolled over 17 consecutive times.

Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza said: "We are thrilled about this Friday's PowerBall jackpot. R106 million is a significant amount that can transform lives.“

She encouraged players to make use of “convenient” platforms to purchase their tickets.

Ithuba further reminded its players that all winnings are tax-free, and players must be 18 years and older.

Twice this year the Powerball jackpot that exceeded R100million was won.

In January one person walked away with R121million from the January 26, 2024 draw.

The winner spent R45 on their winning ticket.

Describing the experience as a dream come true, the winner's partner had a premonition a month prior about acquiring a new car and house. Jotting it down in a notebook, they didn't anticipate that it would lead to the reality of winning a mega jackpot, as stated by Ithuba.

Three people won the Powerball jackpot which was estimated at around R131 million for the April 5 draw.

The money was won after 19 consecutive roll-overs.

According to the Ithuba Draw officer each person walked away with a whopping R44,762,152.47.

The winners included a 35-year-old male who planned to continue working even though he was R44million richer.

The second winner was a woman who said she played the same numbers for eight years after initially selecting them through the Quick Pick method.

Her winning ticket cost her R15.

The third winner spent R37,50 on his winning ticket and planned to enhance his contributions to charity.
