A body of a man was discovered on the street at Dennilton in Limpopo, and two suspects believed to be connected with the brutal killing have been arrested.
The police in Dennilton described the incident as an act of vigilantism.
The body of Prince Nkosi, 32, was found on Sunday, November 24, lying on a street in the village said the Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.
His body had bruises, indicating a violent assault.
“Preliminary investigations established that the victim was found sleeping at an outside a house belonging to the suspect's relatives. During the incident, allegedly, the victim was unable to give reasons that led him to the said household.
“Community members gathered, and that's when the suspects assaulted the victim,” said Ledwaba.
The suspects, a 64-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man were arrested on Thursday, November 28, at Kgobokwane village.
The woman faces charges of murder and common assault, while the man has been charged with murder. Police are still searching for another suspect, the 64-year-old woman’s son, who is believed to have been involved in the attack.
The Limpopo police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe strongly condemned the killing.
“The arrested suspects will appear before Siyabuswa Magistrate's Court, in Mpumalanga province, on Friday, November 29,” said Ledwaba.
