Hamamatsu, Japan - This the first official picture of the 2015 Suzuki Vitara, which will make its global debut at the Paris motor show in the first week of October.
The five-door compact SUV is based on the iV-4 concept first seen at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show in 2013 and marks the return of a signature nameplate first used more than 25 years ago, also on a small SUV.
ALL-WHEEL DRIVE
It's expected to go in sale in Europe during the second quarter of 2015, and will be available with optional all-wheel drive and a choice of diesel or petrol engines, as well as a range of colour and trim options.
Suzuki SA has said it will look at releasing the new Vitara in South Africa when more details are available; if, as expected, the petrol alternative is the same high-efficiency 1.6-litre four as in the current SX-4, that derivative would be a prime candidate.
