The City of uMhlathuze Municipality announced that it is one of 34 municipalities in South Africa to achieve a clean audit outcome for the 2023/2024 financial year.
The mayor of this municipality Xolani Ngwezi said this accomplishment is particularly significant as the City is one of only four municipalities in KwaZulu-Natal to receive this recognition.
He said this marks the City of uMhlathuze’s 10th consecutive clean audit, underscoring their steadfast commitment to good governance, transparency, and financial discipline.
He said that the City’s continued success is a testament to the dedication and hard work of their municipal team.
He said the City of uMhlathuze remains committed to maintaining this standard of excellence and ensuring that all residents continue to benefit from sound financial management and effective service delivery.
Ngwezi said: “We are humbled to receive yet another clean audit, which is a result of our collective efforts in working together to deliver quality services to the people of uMhlathuze. This clean audit is a fitting tribute to the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, who would have turned 95 years old today. It is a reminder of our duty to uphold the highest standards in all that we do,” said Ngwezi.
