Having a good extension can make any woman feel dazzling, hence many love investing in hair extensions because they come with great benefits- versatility and low maintenance.
Extensions are a good way to create new styles because you can easily add length to your natural hair.
But, if not properly cared for, your natural hair and weave can become difficult to manage.
According to Frika stylist, Jimmy Shibambu, the recommended length of time to keep in an extension is two months. However, with full-head weaves that are sewn on, you must get your tracks retouched every two to four weeks.

Here are various methods shared by Shibambu:
Sewing:
Hair is corn-rowed, then wefts of hair are sewn onto the braided hair.
Strand by strand:
Hair is divided into small sections. Each section is braided to an inch or more. Extensions are then sewn on the braids or secured with thread that this wrapped around the braid. This type of application allows for versatility in styling.
Interlocking:
This is a variation of the sewing technique but without cornrows. Micro-thin wefts are sewn onto your loose hair. Interlocking allows for a knot free seamlessly fusion of natural hair to a hairpiece in such a way that you won’t be able to see the difference.
Fusion:
Strands of human hair are attached to sections of your own hair with a keratin-protein bond that matches your hair colour.
Bonding:
Wefts of hair are glued to the shaft of your hair, close to the scalp.
Crocheting:
Extensions are added to lose hair instead of sewing on the extension on a weft. Crocheting is easy to install and remove.
