Afro-soul singer and songwriter Zuko SA is back with a heartfelt new single, “Ndim Endinguye”, a spiritual message wrapped in soulful melodies.
The release comes as the first single after Zuko SA’s album “Umkhonto,” which was released on January 26, 2024. This May, Zuko SA will do his first live show, “Umkhonto Live” at Joburg Theatre.
“ ‘Ndim Endinguye’ is inspired by the biblical story of the three men in the fire and how God appeared as the fourth man to save them,” the artist explained.
“It’s a song of reassurance that God is always with me, even in the toughest moments.”
The young artist, whose real name is Zuko Kupiso, draws deep inspiration from his parents, whose life lessons have shaped both his music and values. “They’ve always shared their experiences to strengthen my faith. Their wisdom is a big reason why I feel confident sharing my own through music,” he said.
Growing up in a world heavily influenced by social media, he admits that the pressure can be intense. But his grounding comes from the values instilled by his family: respect, forgiveness, love, and a strong connection to spirituality.
“That foundation keeps me centred,” he said.
What drives Zuko SA’s music is simple yet powerful: hope and healing. “I want my songs to be a source of comfort and motivation.
“I get messages every day from people telling me how my music helped them through hard times. That impact is what keeps me going.”
His upcoming album promises evolution without losing heart. “I always aim to be better with every project. The sound is fresh, but still relatable,” he said.
Fans can expect exciting collaborations, including one with award-winning Afro soul musician Nathi Mankayi. “It’s going to be something special,” he teased.
For Zuko SA, soul music is more than a genre—it’s a responsibility. “Soul music has to touch the soul. Whether it’s about love or life, it must resonate deeply.”
This journey isn’t just about fame; it’s about purpose. “My mission is to heal and touch lives,” he says.
With his one-man show coming up on May 2 in Johannesburg, he’s especially proud that his parents will be in the audience. “They’ve been with me from the start, and it means everything to have them witness how far I’ve come.”
Through the noise and glamour of the music industry, he stays focused by remembering why he started. “I always take time to reconnect with myself. That keeps me from getting lost.”
