In a significant shift for the Kolisi Foundation, Rachel Kolisi has announced her departure from her role as CEO, a position she has held since the organisation’s inception in 2020.

Founded by Rachel and her former husband, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, the foundation has focused its efforts on critical societal issues, including food security, education, sport and gender-based violence (GBV).

While the official announcement regarding her resignation has yet to come from Rachel herself, the news has been met with overwhelming support and appreciation from various communities, particularly those dedicated to GBV issues.

The Justice Desk, an esteemed human rights non-profit organisation, took to Instagram to bid farewell with a heartfelt tribute.

They shared: “This morning, we had the privilege of joining fellow GBV organisations to surprise Rachel with a heartfelt farewell.”

Accompanying the message were a series of pictures commemorating Rachel.

The Justice Desk expressed their sentiments poignantly: “Her unwavering support for our work has been truly impactful. We were saddened to hear that she will no longer be CEO of the Kolisi Foundation, but we know she will continue to do incredible things.”

They concluded, saying: “Thank you, we appreciate you, and we will miss you! Wishing you all the best on your next chapter. From all of us at #JusticeDeskAfrica."

Rachel responded: "Love and appreciate you all so much ❤️."

Rachel’s departure marks the end of a notable chapter for the Kolisi Foundation, which has become synonymous with social advocacy and change within South Africa.
