In the latest episode of "Podcast and Chill" that aired on April 14, hosts MacG (real name Macgyver Mukwevho) and Sol Phenduka were in stitches over the reason for “Piano Pulse” co-host Munaka Muthambi’s exit from the amapiano podcast.

Muthambi’s reason for leaving? God told her to.

Six days ago, she announced in an episode of “Piano Pulse” that she was leaving the show. According to Muthambi, the divine directive was clear: it was time to move on.

“I’ve made the decision today that I’m leaving Piano Pulse. And it’s such a tough decision for me because I want to be a part of the culture, and I love these guys so much,” she said.

She added that this is a decision she prayed about and God has spoken to her so it’s something she has to do.

“My reasons have nothing to do with the whole ‘Reason’ saga and our incident with Heineken; we’ve moved past that a long time ago,” said Muthambi.

The recent incident was when amapiano artist Sizwe Alakine (formerly known as Reason) stopped by at the “Piano Pulse” studios.

Tensions ran high when he addressed the comments made by the two co-hosts, Sfiso Ndlovu and Thakgi Ledwaba, about his rapper girlfriend Gigi Lamayne.

Known for their foolery, MacG and Sol Phenduka could not resist poking fun at Muthambi’s reason. MacG asked how everyone in the studio felt about Muthambi’s departure, and his co-host Phenduka responded by saying it was expected.

“We saw it coming though. Because I mean, you did say it was always going to clash because she’s a brand, you know and um, the podcast has got people who speak openly and freely which is what a podcast should be,” he said.

“So it was always going to be a conflict, and it was going to clash because it was going to mess up her influencer bag,” he added.

MacG responded by saying Muthambi continued to secure influencer bags even when she was part of the podcast.

“Why did she leave then?” asked Phenduka. Adding that Muthambi said God spoke to her. Adding to the playful jabs, MacG said he wants to ask her whether God is a man or a woman and what he sounds like.

The hosts continued with their witty remarks, laughing uncontrollably as Phenduka mimicked what God would sound like.

During her days as host, she often found herself at the center of several crossfires, which led to fans questioning her involvement in the podcast.

Although Muthambi is an influencer, she claimed that her reasons for leaving the “Piano Pulse” podcast had nothing to do with the controversial moments on the show.

She started as a TikTok content creator and cemented herself as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry after starring in Netflix’s series, "Love Never Lies”.

On social media, fans remain divided. Some praised Muthambi’s decision to follow her convictions, while others sided with MacG and Phenduka’s banter.

The “Piano Pulse” podcast, meanwhile, has still not revealed its next co-host.
