Durban — In partnership with IIE-Vega School, Northwood School received R10 000 that will go towards their Victor Daitz Centre of Innovation, a major step forward to achieve educational excellence.
The donation on Tuesday coincided with Northwood’s 75th anniversary and IIE-Vega School’s 25th anniversary.
“This year marks a significant milestone for the school and a celebration of the strong partnerships that have been built over the years,” Northwood headmaster Dr Garth Shaw said. “We are thrilled to receive a generous donation from IIE-Vega School, which will significantly support our Victor Daitz Centre of Innovation.”
Braam Mouton, who manages Student Recruitment for IIE-Vega School and IIE-Varsity College, said: “Northwood has always been a top feeder school for us. The disciplines and future skills cultivated at Northwood directly feed into our degree programmes. We are proud to see many Northwood alumni thriving as leaders in the communication, marketing and media industries after graduating from IIE-Vega School.”
The Victor Daitz Centre of Innovation has been instrumental in advancing education through programmes in graphic design, computer coding, robotics, drone technology, and AP maths. Aligned with IIE-Vega School’s educational philosophy, it prepares students for careers in communication, marketing and media as brand managers, creative directors and design studio leaders.
In celebration of the special year and the valued partnership, IIE-Vega School presented the donation cheque during a hand-over ceremony and warmly welcomed Shaw as he took on his new role as headmaster of Northwood.
Vega concluded by saying they were thrilled to announce that a beautiful plaque would be installed at the Victor Daitz Innovation Centre to honour and recognise the significant contribution.
The Victor Daitz Centre for Innovation was opened in 2021.
