Durban - An elderly couple has been left injured after they were assaulted during a house robbery in Durban.

ALS Paramedics Medical Services spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said that just after 12.30pm on Thursday afternoon, they received multiple calls of assistance needed in Pitcairn Road in the Glenmore area.

He said that paramedics arrived on the scene to find Blue Security and SAPS in attendance.

“It is alleged that a robbery had taken place and the occupants of the house, being an elderly couple, had been assaulted.

“Both husband and wife were treated by advanced life support paramedics on the scene before they were transported through to a nearby hospital for the further care that they required,” he said.

Jamieson said that at this stage events leading up to the assault are unknown, however, SAPS will be investigating.
