Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts have returned to bring music, magic and unforgettable evenings to revellers under the Cape Town stars.

The 2024/2025 series of Summer Sunset Concerts kicked off on December 8 with the Cradle to the Cape concert and concludes on March 30 with an unforgettable performance by Ami Faku and Simmy as summer sets on the Mother City.

The packed line-up includes acts like Mi Casa, The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Jeremy Loops, and more.

Unity at Kirstenbosch will usher in the festive season with live performances on December 22. Ahead of New Year’s, Goldfish will ensure that ‘We come together’ with a performance on December 29. The New Year’s Eve Concert sees Will Linley and Lloyiso take to the stage for a memorable start to 2025.

Freshlyground, with new lead singer Mbali Makhoba and Congo Cowboys, will keep the party going on January 5.

Iconic South African acts Mango Groove and Watershed will mark remarkable anniversaries during their Kirstenbosch performances. Mango Groove, celebrating 40 years of unforgettable hits and vibrant performances, promises a show filled with their timeless classics, visuals, and surprises on January 12.

Meanwhile, Watershed commemorates their 25-year journey with a special concert on March 16, launching their anniversary tour that reflects on a legacy of soulful lyrics and platinum-selling albums.

Events and Tourism manager at South African National Biodiversity at Kirstenbosch, Sarah Struys said: “The Summer Sunset Concerts are more than music - they celebrate Cape Town’s vibrant multi-cultural communities and the city’s unmatched natural beauty. Each show feels like a magical evening picnic with world-class music to serenade attendees. We are excited to share another incredible music season with all our visitors.”

This year’s line-up also features The Golden Oldies – celebrating South Africa’s beloved legends over 60 years old, Dutch singer Stef Bos and Afro-Soul-Jazz artist and multi-award nominee and winner Mandisi Dyantyis.

Guy McDonald will be the MC for most concerts, bringing his signature charm and humour to the stage.

Unless otherwise stated, gates open at 4 pm on concert days.

Tickets are available through Webtickets, and at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden gate.
